The kids of Maria Alvarez are learning English

It is the beginning of a new school year for the kids of the public school “Maria Alvarez”.

Last week, the first meeting of the “English Language as a Tool for Social Transformation” project took place.

The project aims to organize and offer English workshops for children between 6 and 9 years old.

The kids from the school of Maria Alvarez need your help.

Located in La Barbacoa, this public school teaches to more than 140 kids.

La Fabrica de Sueńos has helped to

Build the English curriculum for 3 grades that match the government requirements.

Provided all the content and material (100 courses)

The Indigo Club has made a big impact through the collection of more than 10,00 pesos by selling pancakes.

Train the teachers to be more organized and use more pedagogy in their classes.

But we are only halfway, the school teachers and students need you!

You can donate here - 97% of your donation will go to help. If you want to participate in this cause, select “English Class” in the donation form here.

As the touristic scene of Las Terrenas is rapidly evolving, English is becoming more needed.

The classes are also the opportunity to have an educational and recreational experience at the same time.

These classes are given twice a week to 4 groups of about 30 kids.

The idea is that children can interact and learn through games and songs.

This opportunity is intended to promote the importance of creating a community and learning instances based on non-formal education.

We are very happy to participate in a project of these characteristics with such a motivated and committed team.
